On my 850 mk3 the spherical washers don't fit inside the exhaust pipes. The previous owner still had them in there and they were just ground tight to the header until they fit. Should I just be using the older 74 style exhaust crush washer with unbalanced pipes?

The MkIII split collets and conical seats only fit the MkIII style flared out exhaust pipes, and not the eariler flanged pipes, although certain aftermarket unbalanced flared pipes have been made which use the "MkIII" seat arrangement.

Raber's in California sell a really nice, thick set of pipes as L.A.B. describes. I bought a set and they are heavier than my balanced originals.
