Hi All.
Second chick and the engine (810 alu barrells with big valve head and Dunstall cam) started great.
After a little trip of few km i have listen a continuos whistle, not at idle, that i think dont come from the engine but ?????
The pipes are well tight.
The clutch has five bronze discs.
I cannot recognize from where the whistle comes, seems to me from into the air filter (i know that it is not pissible).
Please, what i must check?

Does the noise start /stop or change in intensity with a change in engine speed (RPM) or ground speed (KPH)?

Hi.
The noise there is not at 1000 rpm.
In begins when you go up with engine speed.
I listen the wistle from the air filter!!
Maybe the bronze clutch plate?.
Thanks
Pieo

Holding a piece of auto heater hose up to your ear and searching around the engine with the other end really helps to locate engine sounds. I’m sure you already know that, but I just thought I would throw it out there In case.
One more thing, I had a strange sound coming out of my engine after rebuild and traced it to air being sucked in through the hole where the ignition wires went through the timing case. There was a low spot on the case between that hole and timing case cavity. I had to build it up with JB weld and then file it flat. Might be something to check.
Good luck,
Pete

Carbs are new? Old? Parts missing? Modified? Keep searching where you hear the noise...

There is a small plastic hole plug in the rear airbox plate. I have never seen this on a parts list. The hole is about 1/4". Maybe the plug is missing.

Could it be a whisle from your mufflers, I had a set of cheap after market mufflers on my Norton many years ago they performed really good but had a whisle to them, I wondered why they were nick named whislers.
How does the bike perform???

Hi.
Sorry not, the whistle seems dont come from mufflers.
Is strange, i know, but seems to come from into the air filter.
The bike starts well and engine runs great!
