I have had my 75 MK 3 for about two years now and I finally decided that I would get all the switches and lights working the way they should. My bike has a stock wiring harness in good shape but I had to replace the right side switch cluser and throttle. The wires from this (and some others) were just jumbled up in the healight shell. Do I really need to be able to switch from high to low beam? Nope. Do I really need to be able to choose headlight or pilot light? Nope. Awwww and what about that MK 3 only warning light dash. Do I really need to have the lights work? Nope again. The fact is, I like things to work. It makes me happy when they do and bothered when they dont. I obtained the original bulbs and the colored lenses and quickly realized that these would last about 5 seconds in the real world. They are just pathetically fragile. I installed the lenses and obtained some mini bulbs from Radioshack (part number 272-1141). These I inserted into small bits of foam rubber and carefully pushed them into the lenses. I soldered up the wires and used one of the dash mounting bolts as a strain relief. Now the ignition and high beam indicators are working. I have no turn signals and at this point the neutral light switch is not important to me. After this was done, I sorted out the handlebar switches. The really cool deal would be to use LED's but they would have to be the positive ground type.

I just bought some from China on Fleabay, they have 2 wires attached so no positive ground per se just connect them round the right way. I actually bought them to replace the bulbs on a old Guzzi Le mans but they had a blue tint to them and made all the warning lights look blue! OK for high beam and confusing for everything else!

I have also used LEDS's in the past, easily wired in, but the indicator needs a common earth as the orignal fit lamps used the opposite indicator for the earth path. The main reason I changed them was that they worked well at night but were usless during the day, So I swapped to triumph warning lights - cheaper fitting and easier to get the lamps for, just need to open up the console holes.
