This was the first Norton I bought and i'm very excited to see it done. After i bought it i soon got an early fastback and then an Atlas that both took precedence over this bike...but after riding her and seeing how she turned out 2 years later i think she might be my favorite! Really love the seat i had made. Few little things to button up, but she runs, rides, sounds, and looks awesome. P.S. This is not a make-everything-shiny restoration....i put all new parts where necessary and prudent then cleaned up and painted the rest to look like a decent rider. P.P.S. towel under carbs is cuz leaky float caused necessary purchase of stay-up floats installing tonight.

The floats don't leak, but the needles or seats do. You need to check the seats are good with the new needles too. Seats can be fixed.

Need video of it running.

Nice job. I can't tell from the photo, is that a Dunstall or PR tank? How is it holding up?

Dunstall tank holding up well so far. The glass is insanely thick on these things. However i only use non-ethanol gas even though it is coated with something from the PO. What is actually happening with the floats is they have plastic pivot pins, and one sticks at the bottom of travel (when tickling) so gas just flows nonstop from the tickler and if u smack the float bowl with a mallet it un-sticks. I took it apart and stared at it for a while and it is definitely binding on the pivot pin. The stay up floats with metal pins should work.

Here's a video of it when i first got it running and got all the wiring done. Since then i've changed a few things most notably much lower bars, some wiring routing, got my seat etc. I"m especially proud that i managed to get the auto-advance installed properly without too much trouble. I had to swap the timing cover b/c one of the points plate stud hole threads was stripped out. I was told how to do it by Wes Scott in FL by feel. I must have done it right because it fired right up!
