I have an aftermarket in line aluminum oil tank for an Atlas and the large oil strainer-feed line to the motor is not made for a banjo like a commando. The threaded section is 7/8" across the threads and it is straight in...no provision for a banjo. It makes for a very awkward routing for an oil line down to the motor. The Commando is 1" so I can't use it. Any idea what model this would have fit and is there a smaller strainer/banjo unit I can install?

I don't fully understand your description, but have you considered whether an original, Atlas style, feed/strainer unit would fit?

It might but I would still need the 90 degree change in direction the banjo would give.

I'm still not really understanding your description. I assume your tank has a side "exit" for the feed line? If an Atlas style unit matches the diameter and thread you could always solder an elbow on to the extension that the oil hose fits over.

both feed and return spigots are on the right side of the oil tank, not foreward like an Atlas. Therefor the oil lines must make a 90 degree turn towards the motor. The return is a simple elbow welded into the tank. The feed is similar to the Atlas piece. I could probably drill it out and install an elbow such as the one for the cam breather...1/2 x 13.
