6000 miles in 36 years

Just picked up my "New" Mk111 1975, 6000 miles its been in storage 33 years! Tick over is rough...the O rings have rotted on the pilot air screws...It as had some re-commision work.New tyres,master cylinder seals,and brake flexie's. I have rode it 40 miles, goe's well,no smoke or oil leaks!..One problem the stock chrome brakes are iffy..and as the bike as sat 33 years untouched as per factory its a shame to start messing now..
Question; is it normal to balance the carbs useing the balance pipe stubs?
