I think that 1973 was the only year with two series. Series One has the 71-72 megaphone silencers. Series Two seems to have Torpedoes. This week I installed Torpedoes interested to see how much quieter they are from repro Megaphones.
Seems to me that all repro later model brit bikes are straight through absorption type not baffled as original. Also interested in seeing if there was any noticeable performance drop.
100 mile road test today says they are slightly quieter in town, a bit less of a rasp. At full chat they are more subdued but
and perhaps a bit less umph up at high rpm. Rather surprised at how well they work actually. They are a bit heavier too.
