Some claim that modern Triumphs are very prone to rust and other forms of cosmetic deterioration. Maybe I've lucked out with a couple of good ones. The 7 year old Thruxton tidies right up to showroom, but it should as it's only seven years old.
It's this 18 year old Daytona 955i that impresses me. Right up close, after cleaning, it still looks as new.
It's always had reasonable care while I have owned it (I'm the 3rd owner), but when it is ridden it gets used hard over long distances. I don't clean it very often. It has been " ridden hard and put away wet" more than once.

More important than the state of the finishes, I would feel confident getting on this bike tomorrow and setting off across the continent. Confident in the bike that is, not so much the rider!

Looks fast sitting on the lift.
18 years old sure looks new.
Couple more pics?

Looks superb, I have an 07 model with 25k miles on. I have had it for 14yrs I absolutely love it. I have had to do the top yoke conversion though. As after about 70 miles my neck n shoulders were aching like hell. After the conversion I did a 4hr ride to Caldwell park n got off the bike with no aches. It was a real game changer for me

Yeah well at least I know where to go when I need to borrow a few D clamps...

I'm getting by with riser clip ons for now.
Every year I get on and think " This is the last year I'll be able to ride this thing" The riding position is good for a sportbike but not that good for an older rider.
After half an hour or so of riding it starts to feel normal and away we go.
I replaced the stock seat with a Sargeant seat, that made a huge improvement in comfort.
