What became of the 2015 Cycle World test bike

What's wrong with the current fairing?
You can also checkout Airtech.
They make tons of vintage half fairings, all styles in fiberglass.

I was initially thinking of one of those fairings for the Thruxton R, rather than pay the exorbitant Triumph price for their item.
On investigation it turned out that the various aftermarket fairings all needed work to get up to the " ready to paint"stage.
They also required the separate purchase of a windshield and various universal mounts.
Quality painting and body work are expensive!
By the time everything was factored in, the Universal aftermarket fairing was actually more expensive than the Triumph item.
And it would have been a pretty poor cousin , all finished. The finish on the Triumph item is on par with a high end automotive finish. I guess this would only be a plus for you if the colour was useable on your bike.
The cage fabrication alone is probably worth the full price, if you had to make a one off.
Of course the one off cage wouldn't fit the fibreglass skin like a glove the way the factory item does.
The universal fairings offered some struts at extra expense, but they looked pretty hokey compared to the mount below, which also includes a really well designed rubberized headlight mount.
