I couldn't actually open that page, but found the same stuff scattered elsewhere.

You could probably argue that islamic state wants to kill off capitalism too.
With more intent AND action.
But doesn't necessarily mean thats a widespread view in the community !

Remember too that the word capitalism was coined a long time after economies had developed,
its just a moniker. The Romans amongst others beat them to it by a few thousand years. !

It is widely touted that there would be more jobs in an all green clean world than in the current version.
This isn't exactly doing away with a 'capitalist' economy then, is it ?
Isn't it quoted that more folks currently work in solar than in nuclear industries ?
And solar only has a fraction of its possible use.

The current rather large population base means that any conversion to new technologies will not be easy though.
A number of programs are underway in 3rd world nations, putting for example solar cooking and lighting systems in their homes quite economically. Converting them before the coal-and-oil mentality/lobby takes hold ....

I'm still waiting for what Melania did that supports "cashing in."

Just what did she do? It's a smear.

I could be wrong but her product, and her Nordstrom's contract predated the election, right?

Yeah, Conway - after the fact - said "buy Melania's stuff" BFD!

My wife, who isn't very political, heard about this, so, this morning she said: "What a load! They're attacking her, a business woman, for what? Nothing. These a**holes think they're for women!? feminists ?!? I'm going to go online and buy some of her stuff, today!"

If you listen to some you would think that we ARE the MAIN cause of climate change. the US , Europe and aust. have done a lot to clean up our act and YES we need to get these third world country's on board BUT IMHO we are less of an effect than some want us to think. like i asked just what put us in an ice age and brought us out of the last ice age ? it sure was not caused by mankind. climate changes with or without us. the one thing I will agree on is we don't need to keep $hitting in our pool.

To my recollection, nobody ever said humanity was the SOLE cause of climate change, only that we are contributors. So if we spend the next several hundred years arguing to what degree we contribute, instead of reducing our contribution....

And if someone gets rich (God forbid!) from actually trying to mitigate our impact on the climate, how many will it take to equal all the loot the polluters have made fighting to keep status quo? Just because China and India do it, and we have to "compete" with them, then we have to pollute also?

I take what I know or think I know from years of experience, not internet links, political blogs or what any opinionated talking head says. Talk radio is just something to entertain morons who are too stupid to listen to and appreciate good music. Like any good debate, you just can't say "do nothing because nothing can be done" or "it's just a natural cycle and out of our hands." That is abdication of responsibility. We all know climate change is real and we all know humanity is contributing to is to one degree or another. You can disagree with carbon credits, but what else do you have besides sit on our hands and hope for the best? It's just like the gun debate: the gun enthusiasts will have to be the ones to come up with a solution to the problem, or someone with different sensibilities will. And you won't like it.

typical left response. attack, belittle and call names. you can be as thick in the head as a bull in in the a$$. remember the ring debate where I even posted a page from federal Mogul but it took a video to prove me right.

I have NEVER said we should sit on our a$$ and do nothing because we have cleaned up our act a LOT over the last 40 + years. what i am sick and tired of is the greenies like others where what ever you do it is NEVER ENOUGH. again just like the gun control advocates. look at Chicago, Baltimore and DC where they have the strictest gun laws in the nation and the highest murder rates. the proof is there that the gun control advocate's plan does not work.

Typical right-wing response to bring up unrelated info. Just like the Al Gore info in a Trump thread. Let's stick to The Donald here, not backwards logic like inferring gun violence in big cities is the RESULT of strict gun control laws rather than the other way around. I never said you said do nothing, but you proposed nothing else, so what to do about gun violence and pollution?

All the environmental cleanup done over the last 40 years was fought tooth=and=nail by right wingers as nonsense, unnecessary and a waste of money. They fought Social security and all the programs of the New Deal the same way, even conspiring within the government to assassinate Roosevelt.

So if you want to go off topic here and talk about piston rings, gun violence or environmental cleanup, at least come up with something new. Or if you want to talk about someone who has said things that have turned out to be false, let's get back to Trump. He's not lying if his lips aren't moving.

So, back to Trump: his cabinet appointments include a closeted racist Attorney General, A Secretary of Energy who campaigned on abolishing DOE, but couldn't remember which department he was talking about (or presumably WHY he favored abolishment other than the fact that the oil industry doesn't like government 'meddling' in their affairs), a press secretary who proposed there are "alternate" facts and an Education Secretary who thinks her job is to bring the "Glory of God" back to our public schools. Oh, yeah I almost forgot a Chief of Staff who was a do-nothing right-wing talking head Rush Limbaugh-wannabe.

Trump recently threatened a Texas State Senator who had proposed a law forbidding property seizures without a convictions. Trump and his ilk are not pleased with innocent until proven guilty. Or individual property rights over eminent domain. Sounds like fascism to me.

Oh, yeah, almost forgot, when his Supreme Court nominee said The President's questioning the integrity of judges was "disheartening and demoralizing", the Donald responded that the comments were "misconstrued" and "taken out of context".

So when someone outside Trump's circle criticized him, they are dismissed, belittled and threatened and when it comes from inside, well, they really didn't say that? The needle on the bullshit meter has pegged and broken off the stem.

Not to mention a VP who's a closet religious fanatic. I just hope Trump makes it through his 4-years, otherwise we get "President" Pence. Rather a bumbling moron than an evangelical nut-case. Proof that the lesser of two evils is still evil.

But apart from all that, Trump is OK ? - 'Into each life some rain must fall' ! - Has he made American great again, yet ?

I don't think many Americans know how popular they became in Greece when Obama was elected. I was on holiday in Napflion and the locals were most excited. Just prior to that I was on a Russian cruise ship full of godbotherers following in the steps of St Paul across the Agean Sea. The Americans only ever went ashore in large groups. Perhaps you all worry too much ?

Law courts 3 Trump 0
The latest score from the Appeal court on the banning of people, from the mainly 7 Muslim countries on Trump’s Exclusive order.
It seems the Yanks have voted in a President who doesn’t know the American constitution :!:
I await with abated breath of Trump’s next move next week…………………….

They actually have 'the rule of law' in America ? - Must be due to the Texas Rangers !

Did Trump leave Saudi Arabia off his list ? He must know which side his bread is buttered on.

Now he's claiming that he's the only family member affected by the requirement to have no outside business interests. One of his sons is negotiating with a hotel/resort business in central America that was originally a Trump subsidiary. Not sure what's going on, but another poke in the eye for the US Constitution?

What I don't understand about politics is the idea that some people have that - because a politician has a big nasty mouth, they are somehow entitled to 'their turn' to be leader. When Abbott got elected in Australia, he had NO POLICIES. And he turned out to be a complete dud. These days he sits on the back-bench of the Turnbull government and is a blight on all proceedings

America believes in Ayn Rand's individualism. Trump is the natural extension of that. Altruism has no place ? Some people are not motivated by greed but work 'for the common good'. Is Trump one of those ? A lot comes down to VALUES - Trump is cheap.

President Fart works entirely for his own benefit. He's the first billionaire President and, I think, the only one to have gone bankrupt several times. He's now trying to convince us that he's the only one in the family that isn't allowed to have a "day job" other than President. He has one son working in a central American hotel chain and his daughter, Ivanka, is a clothing manufacturer. He also owns several golf resorts around the world, including one in Scotland.

Years ago, he was on the verge of total ruin. As a businessman, were it not for blind, dumb luck, he would have thrown himself out of one of his buildings or be begging quarters with a tin cup. His enterprises were close to a billion dollars in the hole and a group of bankers had to decide to keep him afloat or let him drown in debt. They decided to bail his sorry ass out, thinking he was too big to fail, and set him up as a figurehead with no real decision-making power, incase he screwed things all up again.

When other business entities looking for bank support saw that, they clamored to pay him to use his name ( and apparent financial clout) to fund their enterprises also. Trump became a kazillionaire all over again just by selling the rights to plaster his name all over other peoples' ventures.

When he puts the US in the same shape as he did his businesses, who's going to bail us out?
