I am going to use the cover I have, but will have some other JPN correct parts left over.

some more photos, probably start it tomorrow. Its a hard kicker! It has funny stripes on the fuel cap cover, not sure if I want to keep them. The body is out getting stripes.

Not stock, but cool. I would keep them as a nod to the personal history of the bike. Unless you are targeting the rivet counters.

The cap reminds me of a gypsy caravan or canal boat !

I’d take it off personally. But that’s only IMHO.

FYI The battery tray side cover DZUS receptacle # 06-4066 is for a MK3 ,it fits into the air box bracket located towards the top of the box. It will not work on the MK2A . The MK2A has a thicker rectangle hole in front of the battery tray and it will not fit. The MK2A needs a part number 06-4066/7 . The "C" clamp was used to squeeze the plastic down in order for it be snapped into place.

Got the stripes on, found a set extremely rare optional plastic headlight covers.;)

Those may have been illegal in the US back in the day. I seem to remember E-Jags getting a headlight redesign to conform.

The headcovers were a haha ,:) Had them lying around for another project, the JPN's never had them. Cleaned up the real headlights and blew through the silver reflector plating on one trying to get a mark off:eek:. FYI, If you want to make a set off factory headlight mounts for a JPN start off with a couple 5/34" Lucas headlight shells and cut off the bowls!

how was yours?
Mine had original headlight cups.

I think I still have a rough set in my chopped fairing, but don't want to remove anything from it as it's hard enough to sell already.

I see you've been looking closely at the seat pix...

By the way, the clear headlight covers actually look pretty cool. Accentuates the "bug eye" look...
