Filthy Cockroaches

Its never seen salt, stored all winter. Not worth a fart in the snow anyway.

I should mention we have dealt with same broker since ‘78 , if we have a claim, we can drop in and file with their help always , a benefit of small town Nova Scotia , they have never been a problem in any way …

Broker...
= agent we have in the States?
(I assume)

All our personal info goes from the local warm fuzzy office digitally to the giant WeSaySo company that underwrites the policy. Worse, that information is in a "data lake", shared with other companies, so they can protect THEIR profits from habitual claimants. All over the planet.

Will keep that in mind , for now it still person to person for us , they do have our landline number & home address …. no email , cell #’s though ….

DOB?
Drivers license #?
SSN (Canadian equivalent)?

I do not like their business model, and prefer NOT to do business with them.

Slick
1. I don't care for their advertising. They protray motorcyclists as semi-illiterate, buffoons.
It may be funny once in awhile, it's worn me out. I've come to the conclusion that is how they see us.
2. A few years back there was list of companies that donated to shut down some of our public riding land here in California.
Progressive, North Face, Camelback and many more all on the list. The very companies that solicit our business, yet trying to shut us out.
3. There is plenty more, but I'll stop here.

Concours …. Just our ages & full names , no B’days or SIN #’s it a small town we both born here type of thing …. We have had 2 claims first in ‘78 I rolled our VW van over , back up onto its wheels just a 100yds from our driveway , no questions other than price we paid , one day later a cheque for one dollar less than our paid price , fast forward to this past fall , Hurricane Fiona took 7 shingles off north side of roof , adjuster showed 2 days later money to entire north portion of roof , both pitches in our hands in 8 days …. Our house yrly premium went up $30 … worked for us both 😎 …. Far as I know only folks who can demand our SIN number is Federal Gov ….

Patagonia was on the list too.
The "Flo" campaign is still an enormously successful advertising campaign and has generated millions in new biz.
"Flo" herself has become a millionaire many times over. A not so attractive actress found the gold mine...literally. Residual payments and continuation campaigns are ungodly lucrative. And for each market the spot is aired, and for each time the spot is aired, the higher the payout.

Anyone ever heard, anywhere, how happy and satisfied they are with Progressive insurance itself?
Follow the money

They suck.
A lot.
You have to know the governing laws in the industry, as well as the industry sleaze tactics.
Then hold their feet to the fire. Hard.
Otherwise, they lowball their customers and put all that money in their pocket.

Pretty clear the direction the company is headed.
This is what I woke up to on my tv...

Your insurance fees at work for the Progressive marketing profile.
They are Darth Vader in a pink dress.
Look up customer/satisfaction history.

Any (insurance) companies that come to mind that are not pursuing that agenda?

Yup.
I use a broker.
The only thing I really advocate when she is seeking out the best fit for my family's needs is to find fair/reasonable rates and they have to have a good customer interaction reputation.
If said insurer is building a company profile using high profile advertising on a national level via multiple formats I am most always walking away,.
Hagerty being the exception due to their very specific niche in the market.

I got a quote from Dairyland Ins on my modern stuff, came in at half of what Aunt Flo has been charging me. I was with them once before when I rode a BMW K100RS. Bought the Suzuki bandit new in 07 and tried to get coverage with them. They quoted me twice the premium cost because it was a "sportbike" according to them . Same horsepower as the BMW but GSX dna so its a high risk according to them. Not so much now I guess.

Not to steal this thread, but in the same vein, my bitch is with Enterprise Car Rental.
Those cockroaches twice tried to hit me with damage fees, that IF were true, happened on their own property after I returned the car after their normal business hours.

The details:
I waived THEIR damage fee, as my own insurance would cover any such damages.

Case 1: turned in the car at their lot at LAX after they closed for the day. Got a bill for key scratch damage. I told them to contact my insurance company..... never heard another word about it. And to my knowledge no claim was made on my policy.

Case 2: turned in car at their lot 15 minutes after their usual hours. People were still in their offices.
Next day, I got a call saying the car had keyscratch damage. I told them if it did have keyscratch damage, it happened on their property and therefore was their responsibility. They disputed that argument. Eventually, I said I was 100 miles away, would turn around and return, and inspect the car.... if it did not have a keyscratch , it would after I inspected it and before I filed a report with the Better Business Bureau. My wife dissuaded me from turning around, before I had gone 50 miles further, I got another call saying they would file a claim with my insurance company...... funny thing, they never asked me for my insurance company information.

  • Thumbs Up
Reactions: baz
Enterprise hosed me for $600.
Waived their Insc. fee and used mine
After the car was returned without incident they called me and said there was a $600 paint scratch "fee".
I said I'll be right over (dumb on me) and when I showed up they said the car was already on the way to the body shop. These kids relaying the information didn't know a paint scratch from a valve stem.
Way obvious this was a tactic they had been coached on. I went inside and overheard a girl on the phone was telling someone saying they had scratch damage.
I told them all to suck my rebel dick and go get fucked, that this was no longer about money. To me it was about principal and honesty and yada yada yada.
It actually was about the money and the tactics employed and I was steaming.

And, I was not going to roll over and take it in the shorts from this snot nosed arrogant little witch, which she was.
They sicked the collection agency on me. I sicked my legal rep on them.
I ended up paying Enterprise a hundred bucks.
My attorney loved my action and actually put a bad PR threat in play that kinda' worked. He only billed me for $500 which was a good guy rate-sweetheart deal.
So it still cost me $600 but they only screwed me for C note and fuck them.
I rip Enterprise at any and every opportunity and always explain why. I have cost them business and that's a good thing.
Good to see the poster from Texas doing the same.

Common occurrence.
I was charged, pushed back HARD, made them produce the pre-existing damage sheet I signed, behold, there was the marked up area. Of course, now I keep copies of that document, digital images.
I do walk around images now, before & after, no matter how busy the facility is, or how much of a blind rush I'm in.
National has been my preferred brand, 25 years. They tend to suck less than some others.

The info on National is good to know, I still chase the best rate other than Enterprise.
