Wouldn't have expected the release of the 961 in India to be honest, although as you say Mn there are Indian articles detailing this as occurring later in 2024. Some of those articles also detail a 500cc model (showing a picture of the Atlas), the V4 and the Dominator!? One also mentions the 961 being assembled in India in the future. So who knows what’s wheat and what’s chaff! I suspect mainly the latter but who knows.Seems some of the bloggers are actually supported by Norton themselves as they show the same links on their website. Also noticed that the 961 and a 500? will be released for sale in India this year according to several automotive sites there.
The majority of more recent Norton reviews/VLOGS are contained in this thread - might be worth keeping them in one spot rather than raising new threads. My thoughts only.
Beholden to the dealer - a little maybe (they often are), but it’s obvious that he genuinly rates the machine and the riding experience, which is what it’s all about.
Some valid points made in the YouTube comments, for and against - with the usual smattering of detractors spouting the usual stuff, without ever having been near one (modern Triumph in their garage mostly). There’s room for both awesome machines of course!
Could do with you breathing on my old girl Stu (that doesn’t sound quite right!), she’s started playing up for the first time in years - some beers’n’fettling to be done methinks! Great to see Jonathon having the confidence in his Mk1 to do such trips - good on him!Yes, I know the bike well. I first worked on it whilst at the factory. Came to me after going to two Norton dealers for an in-op speedo....they'd sold him parts but not fixed anything. Found a break in the signal wire. The original owner was over the moon, and loved the bike to bits. Unfortunately whilst riding another bike, he was struck by a hit and run driver, and lost his left leg. All his other bikes could be converted so he could continue riding....wasn't possible with the 961, so he had to sell it. It was then owned by a guy called Mike, who did a few track days on it....and now it's with Jonathan.
Originally the bike had a colour coded headlamp and mudguard.

If I were in the UK I’d be taking such a trip to a certain island racetrack very shortly - can’t even get coverage on the TV over here!!
Keep up the Dommie pics!

Hi, What footpegs did you use to combat the vibration, and did it work? Why don't you use handlebar end weights ? The diameter works for this , which I have done . I still had to replace the footpegs entirely though with the vibration isolating rubber footpad type.
