Impressive quickie budget rebuild GPZ 
moocho better; IMO, to have it back on the road running ... than sitting any longer waiting for 90% new parts, polishing and bling. Joy of 70s bike riding soon for happy new owner. Thanks for posting and the many pics; brings happiness to see another back on the road. Does convict me of my own "slug slow" rebuild of my own 1974 850. 
Hopefully, posts like yours can stir me to move again ...

Installed the OPRV, filled the oil tank, primed the rockerboxes with oil, kicked it a few dozen times, then got it all set for startup. Flushed the tank and added 2 gallons of mid-grade, replaced the temporary fuel lines with new hoses & clamps, then checked the carbs - no leaks. Kicked it 3 times and it fired, gave it a few more tries then decided to re-check the AAU & points settings. Sure enough, the advancer needed to be rotated just a tad. Started on the first kick after that!
Nice oil return after about 20 - 30 seconds at low idle.
Nice steady tickover. No smoke from exhaust, no issues.
NOW it rains. Test ride will have to wait...
