Nice gantry setup
Are gaskets required on both side of manifold to head insulator?
The Andover drawing shows no gaskets (1 & 1A are 1/16" & 1'8" thick respectively):

Lots of disagreements on this! Are gaskets required on both side of manifold to head insulator?
Cooler carbs with thicker. If I remember right, Triumph only uses thick ones. Today Amal sells them in 20mm to 32mm and only thick.Out of interest, what would one hope to achieve by fitting one instead of the other (1/16" & 1/8" insulators)?

Nice phenolic. When you remove the manifolds see if there is any wellseal leftThat might depend on the insulator surface.
I got a Bakelite insulator off M,M and I Engineering which got a light coat of WellSeal to all four surfaces and left to tack off.

Heat might still soak through to the manifolds via the fasteners at rest with a hot engine.
No, I use them on all manifolds that are 32mm at the head end. The are not suitable, IMHO, for manifolds that are 30mm (1-1/8") at the head end.Question.
Would the fitting of a thicker insulator (eg. 06.2700 - 1/8") require any changes to the carb set-up (single Amal in my case)?
What bits are you using to do this? Is it the Mk2 adapter + ???I used paper both sides and a bit of blue hylomer and mine are rubber mounted , cooler carbs .
