Just let Norton know how long you have been waiting to get these parts . Email them

Does anyone know if the earlier chromed rim from the plastic shell will fit the later metal shell? Or do they need to be changed as a pair? I’m not a huge fan of the all black finish of the later type but am keen to change my earlier plastic shell, which has cracked around the mounting holes.
Apologies if this has been asked before...
Hi Richard,Yup. You can do this. The chrome lip older style has glass lens which is better. Need to use washers between bucket and brackets because of you dont, the bolts deform the shell a little and make the shell oval and the lens will fall out if you hit a big bump. Then the glads breaks.
Hi Richard,
the reason i am replacing my old style headlamp with the newer, apart from looks, is the gap around the glass lens lets the headlamp fill with water on rainy days. Shattered halogen lamp and shorted pilot light are the result.
Am i missing a seal or am i just the only silly so and so who rides in the rain?
If i was to attempt to transplant the chrome rim it wouldn't include the original lens for that reason.
thanks
iain.
Thanks Richard, interesting reading. In my case about 4 hrs in persistent drizzly rain and there was over an inch of water sloshing around between the lens and the reflector. I’ve had insulation tape sealing the lens to the rim since then, ridden in much heavier rain and no further issue.
The new bucket does look to be a very close match to the spare I have for my 850, apart from idiot light holes.
Any luck with the JW SPEAKER head light?Maybe he's taking a summer vacation. I wonder if there's another backup person at Norton UK. I received my parts order in late June. I do remember that Max mentioned to me on the phone about a guy named Matt(?) for getting parts.
Have any of you try fitting JW Speaker 8790 Adaptive 2 LED 7 in. headlight in your 961s?
