Hi all
I've just completed 1800 km road trip over four days 1120 miles which took me along the east coast of Australia from Newcastle to Byron bay then over the mountain range to kyogal inland to inverell then back home to singleton.
The bike went mostly really well apart from the last few hundred kms, after fuelling up it went great while powering on but started missing when backing off coming down the mountain range, then came good half a tank on. then played up for the last 70 km after refuelling again but still only when backing off there was no missing when powering on at all.
I washed the bike this morning and apart from the fact it plays up when wet ( lucky I had no real rain on the trip) once it dried out it was fine again with no sign of the problem from yesterday.
I've done the dialetric grease in the air box sensor plus some others but it still can't handle getting wet ... Any ideas?
All in all I was really happy the missing wasn't enough to spoil the ride and it's due for first annual service now so hopefully it can be sorted.
Also got a really handy set of soft saddlebags from 3rd gear here in Aus that fit like a glove will post photo if I can work out how
