“One-stroke” waves away conventional engine design

Development continues for the usage of multiple fuel sources including Hydrogen.
 
Definitely interesting. Roller cams/rockers have certainly proven their worth in outrageously powerful engines, so that aspect is not much of a stretch...

So it's not actually a one stroke at all, just marking wank. It is not a typical 2-stroke though, as it does not burn oil/fuel mix. Another interesting point, likely has quite low torque at lower rpm as no good sized lever arm like in conventional crank setups. A pretty good technical assessment here, with a curious observation of a super charger present in their "supposedly" normally aspirated test car:

It is more technically a radial engine of sorts; and in practical mechanical terms, has the usual four phases of the 4-stroke cycle, just that the crankshaft is not noted in a phased relationship to those event positions. An odd duck.
 
It would probably have to run every low gearing. It looks as though it would be very high revving to produce enough power.
My preference is always for lower revs and more torque - that way fewer mistakes are made while riding. You will notice that many modern bikes have slipper clutches to help who stuff-up gear changes.
