Guys
I've been riding my son in laws Triumph T140D while 'refurbishing' it for him. I like the bike and have been very impressed with the 5 speed gearbox (aided by the aftermarket 7 plate clutch possibly).
In contrast it has highlighted the rather agricultural action of the 'robust' 4 speed in my Triumph 650 TR6C.

Having read about Redline oil on this site I purchased some from the New Zealand supplier and tried it in the TR6C. Very impressed with the improvement.

I've not been unhappy with my Mk3 850 gearbox, but as I actually dont know what oil is in it, I'm inclined to try the Redline in this also. Can only be better.

Regards, Andre

Which specific one did you use Andre ?

I have had good results with the RedLine V-Twin synthetic.Definitely not trying to start an oil thread!

I've used whatever brand gear oil I happened to grab at the parts store when I needed it for the Commando; I've never seen/felt any difference in my Commando's gearbox function regardless of oil brand. That is NOT true with a gearbox on one old sportscar I own - Redline MTL works far better than any other gear oil I've tried.
