TVS 961 RECALL....

Probably not, they have most likely fixed it.😖
just got the bike back... and thankfully in excellent condition ! Thank you Norton and bike transporters WMB. Its done 5 miles while its been away. Now then, a question for those who have got their bikes back- i expected the battery to be a bit dodgy after not being on charge for a month... but there was no problem- in fact it started literally straight away- like a jap bike- no turning over of the starter... and the engine seemed to be even quieter than it was before..! Is it me, or have others found the same... or should i have expected this with what Norton have done on the recall ?? I rang my dealer to rebook it in for its first service and they told me there might have been updates done... new software ,etc..??

I got the call today from WMD, bike due back on Friday, a month to the day since it was collected. As for the battery, mine wasn't used over last winter for around three months, started ok after its sleep. Battery wasn't on a charger. Yours may found better, as its had an oil change?

That’s very little bit of parasitic drain. I would be happy with that. 👍

Picked my bike up today, run it home through the Perthshire hills, up to the Linn o Dee, through to Gairnshiel, and down into Aberdeenshire - my first run on it as mine was taken back to Solihull before I had even seen it. The Team at Revolutions did a great job and served up some great coffee. First service booked for next week, so topping up todays 125 miles to the service mileage should be fun in the decent weather we are expecting over the next few days. Very impressed with the bike, even ut running in revs/speeds

Congratulations - glad you have been able to enjoy some great riding :D And once it is run in it will only get better..

Mine was delivered yesterday, 4 weeks after it was collected. No merch for me either, also not bothered. I asked Dave the driver if they are now near the end of these Norton deliveries. He surprised me by saying, oh no, we still have some bikes to collect. Seems some owners are difficult to contact.. never home, on holiday etc.. Went out on the bike at dawn this morning to beat the heat, by the time I got home at 9 the heat was already unbearable. Might go out this evening if it cools down a bit. Currently 34C...

Thats me had the bike a week now, 620 miles on the clock and first service done first thing today by Revolutions Perth. Took out the Himalayan to test while I waited, great wee bike. Lovely run up through Perthshire and Deeside again, and well looked after by Pamela and all the team ar Revolutions.

Glad you are enjoying your riding in that beautiful part of the UK - sounds like potential for for some nice postings in the pictures thread....

My bike arrived home yesterday. It's been gone 5 or 6 weeks. No goodies but it has been cleaned and the chain been waxed.
Just looking forward to riding it now

TVS 961 RECALL....

Just received a message from Norton showing me a link to click on, it's a short survey about feedback on my recall experience . Took a quick look and there only seems about six questions to answer and half of those are to do with your personal details, name , email address etc it reminds me of my CSE exam paper. On second inspection I have come to the conclusion I need a BIGGER form. 😳😏

Good afternoon, New to Norton and the forum, just sold my BMW S1000XR, so a tad different :) I have placed a deposit on a 24 plate 961 SP, the dealer is now stalling me on delivery stating they are waiting for a special tool to be delivered to get the recall repair completed. A quick google states that no specific tool has been advised by Norton. Does anyone know if this is correct please? Cheers

To remove the clutch basket you need to lock the gears to remove fasteners and then a gear puller to remove the backlash/balance shaft gear.

Cheers for the reply, I would have thought an appointed dealer would have the necessary tools to affect repairs !
