961 Tyres

This DIY is all good and well but what happens if you get a sudden deflation leading to an accident and your insurers say "Sorry sir your getting f**k all as you have modified the bike" ....🤔
'I don't know anything about tubeless conversions or inner tubes that was how it must have come from the factory... If you need to confirm this then ask Mr Garner at Donington Hall.... No reply you say?'

Why does the tyre need replacing ?

You had a puncture… and it’s a tubed tyre… a new tube should be all that’s required…?
It looks like the dealer, as you say, now thinks a new inner tube should suffice. I suggested fitting a new Dunlop Roadsmart II but they said it wasn't a good idea to run it with a Dunlop Roadsmart on the front. I haven't seen the tyre so don't know if this is so. With having ridden the bike for a few miles on a near flat tyre and it then being stood overnight on a completely deflated one I feel a little uneasy about this.

Good - sounds like progress - keep us posted and mobile fitter? Well that's their job and their problem...... Looks like you will be getting some good weather to enjoy it. Looking forward to pics but keep a look out for those screws and nails...

Well so much for the good weather, the bike is still with the dealer. I was there yesterday as my Tuono was booked in for it's first 12 month service ( I wandered around Thirsk in the heat, wondering what the hell there is to do there for two and a half hours) - (one and a half hours labour, basically oil and filter change and look at brakes, the service cost £273 - ouch!)
I asked about the 961 but apparently they haven't had time to look at it!
I did ask about how they supported the rear wheel and was told they shove a rod through the back wheel and lift it up on a paddock stand. To remove the wheel they use a jack underneath. This doesn't sound like a good idea to me, but it was the owner talking so maybe he was just guessing. - When I eventually get the bike back I shall be giving it a good going over!

Sorry Dunlop GPR-300 on the front I meant to say.
