An aquaintance of mine in Norway is looking for some Hepolite 850 +0.080" pistons.
RGM and Feked .com both advertise them, but are both out of stock.
RGMs link: https://www.rgmnorton.co.uk/buy/new-hepolite-850-pistons-80_3709.htm

Does anybody know of anywhere else these can be purchased, preferably in the UK or Europe?
Weird that they say they are out of stock - the current Hepolite catalog shows +.060 as the largest. Why not sleeve back to standard - the sleeves are readily available.

I have already suggested this, but it's up to my friend.

Steve Maney will do ‘em I’m sure.

Or our very own lcrken…?
Steve M is showing 850 cc pistons still available on standard size and + 1mm. + 0.080 is just shy of 2mm. I suppose I could always ring him. Thanks for the replies.

.080" over pistons for stock rods can be made by special order. I have them in stock but for longer Carrillo rods.

133015242045 that's the item number on ebay motors in the States ; hope this help
That explains it - he asked for Hepolite and those are not Hepolite. Hepolite does not sell +.080 pistons for Commandos according to their catalog. Also, they have not sold Hastings rings for quite a while now. Regardless, if he really wants +.080 then that set should be fine as they are no doubt JCC pistons and Hepolite pistons are JCC.

....more weight!
In general, a trade off worth having… otherwise we’d all have 25cc screamers…!

But more seriously, there’s more than enough dead weight in the ‘manufacturing tolerances’ of standard style aftermarket pistons, and standard gudgeon pins, to address that if desired.

+.080” sounds good to me… more cubes…. more CR… more power…

Can’t see what’s not to like !
I make it 873 cc.

A “paperwork” downside is that +80 sounds more like a big-bore modification than a service rebore. Insurers might not like it.

Seems like a pretty small increase in engine size. Why not inquire with the usual suspects?

But the iron barrel has bigger holes, all the way from top to bottom of the barrel. To fill the bigger hole you just get bigger pistons and they are lighter alloy and less than half the height of the barrel.

[Happy to give a view without a shred of evidence to back it up :)]

But the barrels don't go up & down at 6,000 + rpm.
