Yesterday picked up this ‘77 CT90 the “Orange One“ , barn find ,used one year and leaned against wall of wood shed , seller got it and could not make run , $500 later it was in my shed , off season project once running , new tires, tubes and battery included in sale plus real registration papers ( never put on road, yet) , heading to City shortly to pick up a free OEM shop manual (found on Kijiji) for 1977 Honda ct90 Trail ..... my Grand Dad used to let me ride his out in the country when I was wee one ...

Those are fun bikes on moderate trails. Good climbing ability as long as you have decent knobbies.

Not wanted to pollute the thread here, but please tell us why? I’ve always liked the Griso, only thing stopped me pulling the trigger was the weight...

Yes it is an ‘07 1100 Griso , I don’t find the weight bothersome , in fact it is a very good back road performer , anything above 140kph is a bother with no wind deflection .....GP the seller provided new never mounted knobbies & tubes along with unused 6V battery , today I picked a free Honda Factory Shop Manual and a L side unused mirror from a good guy in Halifax that used to own a CT and was doing Covid cleaning .... he told me his felt like it would climb a wall in low range .....

I Aussie land we call them postie's bike as that is how they deliver the mail, simple and reliable, they upgrade every year so lots out on the market cheap, there are even companies that arrange long bush treks on them and a few races as well around the country even a trip up to the top end of Aus up in Cape York, so they are a tuff unit to kill but a bit under powered for me.

What wrong with 7hp ? Haha!

Well on them nothing as the ones I see around the place the riders seem to only operate them at full throttle and if any bike can ride at full throttle most of their life and still be reliable as well cheap to run.

I would love one of those.

Travel writer Nathan Millward (Now called Nathan The Postman :) ) rode one from Oz to the U.K. a few years ago..

Cheers,

cliffa.

Wow... what an uplifting vid, wish I had the bollocks to do something like this
And what about that 100cc step through he did all the trips on...

Amazing. I watched the whole video on youtube. What a cool guy. I love his statement in the end about traveling and actually meeting people from other cultures and places to find out that they are overwhelmingly good people, unlike what the general depiction that the media presents us with.

He was very brave and ambitious to just go, and then figure it out as he went. That takes some huge balls right there. I'm not surprised that once he made it to england that he battled depression after the challenge filled journey he took to get there.

Certainly, the boring existence of wake up/eat breakfast/go to work would challenge anyone's sanity after his adventure. I'm glad he reconciled his depression and found a good balance in his perspective to just "be happy, and enjoy what you have". (as he said)

He has loads of YouTube vids, and rides ( and loves) a Royal Enfield Himalayan so must be a cool dude ;)
