I wonder who bought my 961 in Denver Colorado!

As I mentioned in the "That's All Folks 2" thread, my brother bought it from me back in July, he turned around and traded it straight across for a Triumph Bobber. The dealer picked it up today and declared it was already sold! o_O
 
I suspect that there are more than a few closeted 961 admirers that are waiting for an opportunity for one these bikes to fall into their sphere of influence.
When it happens, they jump into action.

I hope the new owner knows about this forum.
He's gonna need it.
Of course if he already owns a classic Norton, he's probably on the forum already.

If someone in Colorado bought the bike, it could be Jim Comstock.
Let's hope so, that way we'll get fixes for all the issues on the 961.
Maybe I'll get a FCR conversion kit for the 961.:D
 
seems like FCRs and simpler wiring loom would resolve a whole lot of problems, sorry, “issues”!
might well go better too.....
 
I don't see Jim going to carbs on any modernish bike.
He has fitted fuel injection to his old time Commando and says it works great.

Perhaps.
Maybe he can adapt Keihin throttle bodies and injectors to the 961 and make it work better.
I'd be fine with that too.:D
 
I’m in the Denver area for most of this week. Still wondering who bought my bike. I might stop in at the dealership to find out.

Aside from that, I am very pleased with the new Triumph Bobber. My brother and I just finished a 700 mile tour of the San Juan mountains among other gorgeous places along the way. Been lovin’ it! Both engine and suspension are very smooth. Handling is a bit heavy and it’s not as torquey as I expected, but still an absolute joy to ride both downtown and open highway.

I do wonder how the 961 might have fared. o_O

I have a Triumph Bobber TFC.
To me, it’s pretty torquey and handles very well.

Are you saying you rode 700 miles on the bobber? That’s impressive!

Just saw this, Scott. Yes, that was 2 1/2 years ago. My brother is a non-stop get-to-the-destination kind of rider (on his big fat Harley :p). We attempted to do 200 miles between breaks. The Bobber was fun.
