I used to come here alot when I was building my Norton and met some cool engineer types. Bought gear made friends shared laughs. Good to see the site is alive and well still and it almost piques my interest to dust off the old girl for a new battery and some more miles.

Awesome!! Yeah for sure. I'm still same area with exception I moved in between San Francisquito Canyon and Boquet Canyon. Kinda livin the dream as far as my canyons are concerned. Great to see your around!
 
You buzzing around in vintage or that gixxer still? I have a couple triumphs. They are great corner riders and have bags. Sprints.

Or was it a giant cbr. I cannot remember... It was a big fast bike though! I used to have a rc51 but sold it to a friend.
 
I bent the Commando's front wheel when I hit a rock up on Lockwood Valley Road, so, lately I'm riding the KTM 525 or the CBR. The KTM, unlike that CBR, is a good match for rides with Brit bikes.

Just sent the Norton's wheel off to Woody's Wheels in Colorado for straightening.
While I wait for that, the kickstart shaft is getting a new pair of O rings and a small oil cooler will be plumbed into the rocker box oil supply line.

We should make sure that we go to the So Cal Norton ride out of Hansen Dam on November 4 -

Do you live in Green Valley? I grew up over in Elizabeth Lake and am familiar with that area. Right now I live in Tehachapi. Maybe sometime we could meet up for breakfast at the "Stone" store in Lake Hughes.

oh man! I took the Norton to Lockwood Valley. Hit up that then down the 33 into ojai. The bike didn't skip a beat. I don't like the sound of it running at 100 mph but I let it wind up for short spells on some of that hwy. What a great ride too. Hope you get the wheel patched up soon. I want to do the Hansen Dam ride. Its a bucket list item for me that I miss every year. Had so many good chances especially when Bibbiani was involved and something would always come up.... Stupid life.

Yeah I am in Leona Valley. I lived in Quartz Hill a while but always wanted a house in this Valley and one I have wanted for 20 years popped up for sale and it was the right time so I bought it. Never looked back. This place has everything I ever want. I literally live in between my two favorite canyons hahah

If you been or lived here you will know my house from the view. or at least the area.

Lovely color combo. What carb you running?

I used to have a single Mikuni. That ran so good it was boring. So years ago I bought a pair of the PWK flatslides and run that. They are a night and day difference in performance. throttle response immediate, the top end power was much more, and it still feels strong in the bottom end. They look really cool too. But I am doing some looking around and see the people have more exciting new Norton stuff since last I built this thing. FCR and stuff?

My next move probably going to be fancy clocks and stuff if I get into it again.
 
I believe frame mods (mainly partial removal of the gusset plate) have been required by some fitting pretty big single flat slide Mukuni carbs.

The FCRs, especially the ‘plug n play’ kit sold by cNw, bolts straight on. And even with my high comp, big cam motor, it’s usually a first kick hot or cold, goes like stick, ticks over like a Honda.
