Did you split the crank and clean the sludge trap?

If so, how was it in there?

Regrind your original followers for your new cam. Heed Fullauto's comments above. We are not getting answers yet about new followers from AN.

Late to this thread but just saw it for some reason. First usual suspect - as noted in an earlier post, damage to journal looks like condensation in oil that was not evaporated off by getting engine up to normal operating temp and then engine was not run for a lengthy period.

Re plastigauge - it's great stuff but remember to check clearance at four 90 degree positions of the rotation at each journal to ensure the journals/bearings/caps are not egg-shaped.

What is the material?
Has is changed, knowingly or otherwise, over the years?
What is it’s compatibiltiy to the various options of cam lobe materials in use today?
