Very original '71 with matching numbers. 8,180 believed original miles
Recent full mechanical service (see below) and road test. Starts, runs, stops, and rides beautifully
New high-quality reproduction bodywork and seat, no marks or damage
New exhaust headers and pea-shooters
Stock except for Boyer MKIV electronic ignition.
Comes with the original CA blue plate with the 1971 registration sticker. It is registered with YOM (year of manufacture) status and includes a metal tag supplied by the DMV for attaching future registration stickers. Currently registered, expires Sept '25.
Details of recent work and parts:
Timing chain adjusted, clutch serviced (cleaned, adjusted), drive chain cleaned, lubed, adjusted.
Carburetors are rebuilt with new slides and slide needles, mixture and balance is set perfectly. It starts 1st or 2nd kick, idles at 1K, and pulls without any issue through the range. New intake boots and manifold insulators fitted.
New OEM-style paper air filter.
Clutch and gearbox work perfectly, very smooth with no slippage or jumping out of gear, etc.
The primary cover has a new sealing band fitted, no leaks.
Timing has been set to spec with strobe, and the valves are adjusted.
The oil tank has been cleaned and reattached with heavy-duty rubber mounts.
New fork seals, paper seal, and fluid change. No leaks, no nicks or marks on the fork tubes - they are as new.
New rear shocks
New battery
New mirrors
New Ferodo front and Emgo rear shoes
New AGM battery
New foot peg and kickstart rubber
New rear brake switch and Lucas rear taillight lens
New instrument and headlight bulbs
New powder-coated center stand, spring, and attaching hardware. Easy to use and sits level with rear wheel off the ground as is correct.
Avon Roadrider MKII, 19" F/R with very low mileage
Cables lubed and adjusted, speedometer and tachometer function perfectly, as do the electrics. The swirling loom is uncut and original except for the Boyer ignition wiring.
Fresh oil (Rotella 15W40)
Nicely painted, polished, and ready for the next owner. This is a rare gem. You can look at the bolt heads and cheese-head screws on the timing cover and gearbox and see that it hasn't been butchered and probably has never been opened up.
Compression is 187 in each cylinder (see pics taken of each).
Quality parts are sourced mainly from Andover in the UK, where possible.
Clean title in the owner's name.
