With or without carburators?

Were more than 20 years that doesn't put hands motorbike but this photo is the result of a sudden awakening, caused by my cousin Mario, another crazy enthusiast who is rebuilding his Commando as well ..from zero!
Thanks to this blog, it made me feel more confident
The engine (gearbox also) has been completely redone:
-crankshaft regrind, -0.2
-cylinder rebored to 0.40;
-new bronze valve guides x 4;
-new roller Fag bearings;
-new all that it remains,
and .. .the gorgeous breather from Jim Comnoz.
Well, after this self I ask advice.
I have to place the engine in the frame: I do not remember more if I can do it with carburetors fitted or only  with manifolds mounted on the head.
As it is better to do?
Thank you all.
Ciao.

The easiest way in my opinion, would be to fit the engine first without carbs or manifolds.

Then, fit the manifolds to the carbs first, and fit the carb and manifold assemblies to the head with the Allen bolts.

If the manifolds are fitted to the head before the carbs are attached then it makes it practically impossible to tighten the two inner manifold to carb nuts.

Yes fit the head steady after the engine is in place.

A shortened Allen key helps to make the job of tightening the inner manifold allen bolts easier.

Phil

Thanks Phil,
but I am not a mechanic or an engineer.
Unfortunately I'm a ... lawyer.
We put good will without presumption, and I do help by advice of fans who write on this blog.
They are real professionals!, not me.
Keep in mind that here in Gaeta (LT) is there for over 60 years the USA six Fleet NATO and we have always seen the military with Norton, Trimph, HD, Mustang, Corvette, etc..
Many times when the military were returning to their House sold cheaply the bikes because they had the AFI (American Forced Italy) that could not be drived by the Italians and, therefore, the bikes were dismantled into pieces.
About 30 years ago, me and my friend, we bought in the "burglary" three almost complete  commando and just last September I reopened the boxes .
I am assembling one bike and preparing another thati will mount in the next next future.
Now just, it takes too long and my wife complains about saying that if I had a lover I would have been more present.
Then, I have two dear friends who are renovating their two Commando and I have to give him some help even if you don't need them because preparations.
One of the two, my cousin, has a blog below where recounts the "gesta".

Ciao.
