Will 850 balanced exhaust be OK on 750 (2013)

Surely whatever configuration exhaust system you use, the exhaust cam timing must be adjusted to suit it and give a desired outcome ? If you add a balance pipe and you get a gain, doesn't that mean the exhaust wasn't previously optimized ? Perhaps what this means is that the standard commando underperformed due to modifications by the factory to address environmental regulations. I suggest it all comes down to what you want and what local regulations require. If I was looking for a performance boost, I would not be looking to Dunstall for it. I'm not knocking the guy, however I suggest his efforts were early in the piece and I believe PW achieved much more a bit later on. It is all too easy to ascribe credibility on the basis of a name however I believe in Jim Schmidt, more than most of the others. What he does with commando internals makes really good sense.

Doses of coppercoat regular CRC applications on bolts stop them just rotting .
Might pay to back off the cross pipe when they've settled in , for re-torquing flange nuts first ,
pipes aligned . Then belt crossover with a 4 x 2 before tightening the pinch bolts . :(

I agree with Matt. Coating the contact surfaces of the cross over pipe and connectors with anti seize compound [aka NeverSeize & Kopr-Kote, etc] will prevent rust & splitting issues with the cross over style exhaust systems. It will also make future disassembly of the exhaust much easier. Also coat the threads of the cross over pinch bolts. Doing this is an absolute necessity for Triumph/BSA header to exhaust pipe [ 4 into 2 center cylinder pipe is split in 2] junctions.
