That oil pump nipple seal, I thought those were for the early models?
Same for all pre mk3 I believe.

A month ago, I found this laying on the bike lift.
Last night, realized it is a carb slide locating pin. Amal Premiers, loose fit. Contact cement to re-attach
Lol, but for 50 years, CC has been the weapon for gas proof glue...Contact cement? You mean JB Weld because JB Weld is the only approved tool on this forum!
When the slide spins around you can have variable jetting, That will make you loose your mind quickly!View attachment 9215 View attachment 9216

You should split the cases if for no reason other than to use some 3 Bond grey and reseal the crancases. I do on mine and get zero oil leaks. none.I too am glad you caught it. I would like to know what prompted you to go that deep into the engine to find it. Being there was no noise was there another symptom. I never disassembled an engine that far for an inspection. If there was an indication I would like to know what it is so I can watch out for it. In a month or so I plan start on a '74 Roadster project. Disassembling the engine was not in the plans, maybe I should. Thanks
