I'll throw mine in, although as far as "most improved", mine wasn't in too bad of shape to start.

It would be my pleasure Rich. My fenders are black because the front fender didn't come with the bike, so I got a fiberglass JPN fender. The rear fender had several extra holes in it and had been sanded and primered already. So, after I got them cleaned up, I just had them both painted with the tank and side covers.

Hope that's what you're looking for Rich.

Sometime in November, Jerry and/or L.A.B. will open up the submittals, then you just send in before & after pix, plus a write-up / spec list, and link to your build thread (if you had one).

The contest is 100% Jerry's "baby", so would members please send all contest correspondence to Jerry.

While I would love to be able to enter, I neglected to take photo's in the beginning to show what a total disaster my commando was when I got it.
It is now together and looking fabulous and if I can ever figure this picture thing out, I will post some. Talk about the diamond in the dung...

I would have enterd this year, but it seems as I almost get done, I change my mind and go thru another revision. The mechanicals are all done, but the bodywork keeps changing. Looks like i'll be in for next years contest. And if all works out i'll have 2 bikes done to enter, the Combat and my 850 custom.

I will put mine in there.... even if I do not feel like its really finished for my personal use: missing the E starter kit from Alton.

Well, I added about 300 miles to my odometer this year. For me that is the best thing I can do. I didn't mess it up and I didn't add any crappy doo-dads. It has hardly changed since 1975 when my Dad bought it. I put my hands on the same handgrips my Dad put his hands on, I put my feet on the same worn pegs, and I sit on the same worn seat. Improved...no. I won't win this one 8)

Hello,

Please send your before and after photos to me jerry [at]accessnorton.com - I also need a description of your rebuild. I will set the voting and post the rules later..

Cheers-Jerry

Making the hobby of vintage motorcycles into a competition seems wrong to me and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

When I saw the title of this thread I did not even have to look down to see who started it, I knew it was the same sort of person that would pick a name like "Born Again Bikes" for the name of a business....

I am going get at least one of the Norton's I am working on together to be ridden for enjoyment and practical transportation for next spring, that is my simple goal, and I don't care what any "Born Again" or anyone else thinks of what it looks like or my work schedule.

"Lighten up Francis" (from the movie Stripes),

This is an annual fun-thing that Jerry does so folks can show off a bit, I like "Norton Porn" any time!
As far as making it a competition do you REALLY think someone would spend a year and thousands so they coud win the pool of donations for this popularity contest?

And I really like the painted fenders, they are giving me "evil ideas".

Well it's pretty simple really. If you don't like the "Most Improved" contest don't look at it.

Cheers
