Which wires go to which terminals - rectifier, flasher, etc?

I've got new wiring harnesses, schematics, books, and repair manuals for my '74 restoration project, but I can't seem to find the most simple information:
On devices with multiple "tangs" (like the rectifier, flasher, ignition switch, capacitor, and even the coils) is there a reference that goes into the detail of "which wire goes where"? For example, the schematic clearly shows the rectifier getting green/yellow, brown/blue, and white/green. But I calculate there are (6) possible hookups, presumably only one of which is correct. Oh, ... and the Waldridge catalog advises not to get it wrong, or the rectifier will be instant toast!

For the Lucas type recifier, Brown/Blue connects to the centre negative (-) rectifier spade terminal.
The Green/Yellow and White/Green alternator output wires can be connected to either of the two outer terminals as both wires are AC (~)
The rectifier stud connection is positive (+) earth/ground.

The Lucas 2MC (+) earth/ground terminal is a single spade, and is usually marked with a Red dot. The Brown/Blue wires connect to the double spade.

The assimilator connections are marked "WL" = Warning lamp wire - White/Brown, "E" = earth/ground - Red, "AC"- alternator = Green/Yellow.

Ignition switch terminals should be marked 1-4? So connect the switch wires to their respective terminals as marked on the wiring diagram-but note that the terminal numbering sequence may differ from that shown on the wiring diagram (see photo).

Single coils are usually marked (+) and (-) so connect according to the wiring diagram, note that the '71- wiring diagram does not show the ballast resistor to coils wire colour-which is usually White/Violet)
