Where should I move?

I tried to get a storage place but apparently in Virginia none of them will allow unregistered motor vehicles in their storage units - at least I haven't found one that will.

Greg, the no motor vehicles thing is probably due to their insurer. Perhaps they'd allow it if you only stored motorcycles that the oil and gas have been drained out of? Draining the gas is a simple Common Sense thing. With the way old britbikes wet sump, draining the oil is not a bad idea either.

With all your health issues you really need to do anything you can to just reduce the stress in your life.

I thought that at first, but they are happy with gas and oil, they just require all to currently registered (which of course, means insured). I probably could fight them and say that frames, rolling chassis, engines, gearboxes and parts are not motor vehicles but I'm tired of fighting my way through life.

I thought you were in the DC area?

We DO have a major problem with too many CA (and other states) liberals bringing their politics with them (even though their politics is THE REASON for them moving away)... The reason Texas is great, is because of the general attitudes which are part of the more rural overall nature of the state.

The above is not opinion, or politics. It is reality being highlighted for a potential life changing move, and is important.
Same here. People move in from the city, and start trying to make it like the city.

For some months now, I've been looking for somewhere to move. Why? I live 8 miles SW of Washington DC - you can't even watch the weather without hearing about politics! More importantly, it is no fun to ride in this area and simple things like machine shops do not exist. I'm thinking warmer winters, less government, and definitely less busy body communities and governments deciding what I can do on my own property. I found the perfect place in Ormond Beach, FL, but their zoning disallows my motorcycle business and that seems true in most of FL. Lately I've been focusing on Georgia even though I know little about the state. Anywhere I move must either have a LARGE shop or room to build one. So, I'm looking for recommendations.
I love Ormond/Flagler area.

I liked the area, house, and shop so much that I almost bought the house from pictures. But the Realtor suggested that I talk to the zoning dept first. They made it clear that I could not run my motorcycle business from that house even though there would be no storefront and almost no customer visits.
