It’s time for wheels and tires for my project. I have a 19 inch wm2 for the front, but need to source a rear. I’ve been researching up and down and can’t decide what to settle with. I’d like something a tad wider in the rear, but want it match well with the front in terms of diameter. A 19/18 combo doesn’t look right to me. How’s this combo?

100/90-19 WM2 front
110/90-19 WM3 rear

Problem is I can’t find a photo of this combo. The 110 is .70 inches taller. Yes, ride is important, but will this look unbalanced?

The problem with 19 inch rear tires is that you have two choices: Heidenau and Dunlop. Dunlops are now made in Indonesia, plus I am tired of scary rides across the metal grate bridge I need to cross to get anywhere. Heidenaus are made in Germany. Ashley from Andover is currently testing a pair

Not too bad in my eye - that's an 18 x 4.00 on the back. Much easier to get good dedicated rears for 18".

I went with a WM3 19" stainless. Now I wish I had gone 18" solely for tyre choice and , not to forget, tyre wear rate. Stock on my 1969 Enfield Interceptor was a 18" with a Avon 4.00 x 18. That is a big square
profile tyre and it easily does 6k miles where as my 19" Dunlop does half that. And most other brands
in that size about the same.
Go 18.

Rob, you do realize those front anti wheelie devices are now banned! But the bike is beautiful. Graham
Thanks Graham - makes me smile every time I ride it. Normally a 70 mile "green-laning" circuit each week with a friend.
Banned? what- in Australia?
They can't do that! The utter, utter bastards!
Cheers

I could have swore last month when I was searching there were 110/90-19 rears available, and now I dont see them listed anywhere. Maybe Im mistaken.

Although the 18 rear doesn't look too bad, I'm really set on 19. I think it looks truer to original and balanced.

That said, if I wanted to stay with 19 wm2 front and get a 19 wm3 rear, whats my tire choice? 100/90-19 front and rear? I dont see any of those listed either, unless Im missing something.

If I do a 18 inch rear I would have to go with WM3 (cost). Would a 120/90-18 fit? I want the same diameter front and rear.
