What's happening at Norton? Sale to TVS, massive investment, new bikes...

I asked a few weeks ago and they said they don't do tours anymore. You could always go for a tour around Accrington.;)😃.
If your coming anywhere near Blackpool give us a shout.👍

Suspected as much - too busy now I guess. No matter, Accy should be just as interesting🤪!!

Thanks Pb, ya never know when we might turn up to watch the mighty Tangerines!

Another sneak peek..

‘How many left’ has updated their site, but only through to the end of 24. There are some doubts about accuracy/interpretation of this data however, it appears that Norton may have sold more 961’s than we had estimated.

They also appear to have sold a few more V4SV’s than we might have thought. It was never gonna be a high volume machine of course.

Not ‘my link’ - belongs to the site. You have to be able to interpret the data; that’s where the difficulty rests.

sold or leased?

So how many total have been sold?
Just spent 30 mins, 25 min longer than I wanted to, trying to work that out for the SV. And the answer is…………. no idea!

Working on the assumption that each machine would need to be licensed on completion by Norton prior to being sold, registered or SORN, it’s still not clear to me (with the info provided in that format).

Is it 91, the number of ‘New registrations’ 23/24? I guess this would’nt include those SORN or never registered. Does a veh have to be registered for the first time before it can be SORN?

Is it more than that and an accumulation of the quarterly figures shown here? These are clearly not cumulative as some figures decrease between quarters.

Regardless, I’d assumed they’d sold only a handful - looks like they may have sold a few more noting no figures for this year also. Depending how big your hands are I suppose 🙌!

Anybody else make any sense of these figures?

Nope.

interesting that Norton’s Instagram page now only shows 4 pictures and of just the new teasers. So now they erased history?

Apart from us freaks who actually care about what goes on inside our machines, everyone else couldn’t care less. For this vast majority it is the image that counts and the new management may have realised that so we should expect new Nortons to be BMW’s or whatever with trendy new bodywork, bells and whistles.

Sadly, this may be so.
Repurposing someone else's powerplant in another company's vehicle is now common place.
engines, transmissions, and electrical systems are shared by so many manufacturers nowadays in the auto world yes rebadging/rebranding is going to be commonplace
