Looks like it’s a late ‘68 Atlas motor. The pushrods look unusual, the tunnels in the head have been opened up. Bore is in new condition and the inlets have a fine Matt finish and I think they’ve been cleaned up.
It runs strong, has very high compression and doesn't smoke but it has been standing for years and leaks like a sieve hence the teardown.

fixed the photos, google photos sucks! Back to imgur.
It is an Atlas. I'm curious about the pushrods and the pushrod tunnels being cleared out.
What is special about the pistons?

In the first images you put up, the pistons appeared to be the original dished type, but now I see they are not.

So, nothing special about the pistons ..... I will call my optometrist in the morning.

After blowing the call on the pistons, I am afraid to say anything about the pushrods, but they look stock to me. I will compare to my originals in my bin in the morning.

The tunnels may have been opened up to make fitting the head a bit easier.

I checked the pics on the Andover site and their pushrods look similar to Commando ones with a steel tip at each end

Made same mistake re piston dishing. Wish someone would make them. I will look at a set of probably stock pushrod over the week end.

If you want to get back to the unobtainable dished pistons at 7.5:1 you could always make a plate to go under the barrel to bring the compression down.

I looked at my original pushrods. They have the screw on tips as in the AN pictures.

The bike when I picked it up.

Manx cafe style. Rearsets, oil cooler, Dunstall fairing etc. It'll be interesting to see what is inside the bottom end, cam?
