Welcome To The Future

My wife came from Minnesota, Moose Lake, where there is 3 weeks of bad sledding (summer).

But I have to say, the US is way below most of EU in latitude, I remember being in Berlin and the sun came up about 4am and went down about 10pm in the summer, then in the winter it changed, came up at 10am and went down at 4pm. I can't imagine living in Finland. England is way above Nova Scotia in latitude, more like middle Canada.

Florida is like where the Canary Islands are.

I don't know how you UK guys do it. I lived in Taiwan (Formosa for some of you) for a while in the 50's, along the Tropic of Cancer, and it was wonderful, the sun would shine straight down the fireplace chimney. But there were too many earthquakes and storms, plus it was hot as the blazes, but the wild Poinsettias bloomed in January, they were about 12 feet tall.

Hi everybody

So back to the shit electric scooters, here my son & I this week with a „Ladärne“ at the Fasnacht (carnival). This club was taking a swing at everything to do with them, the danger, the green hypocrisy, the mess. Dead right, they truly a menace in our town.
BTW he is 6‘4“ I am standing on a concrete block.
Have a great weekend,

Martin

We sled on tall grass in the summer. It's not that bad.

Whoever said ;it is as easy as riding a bike' must have been an idiot. My wife cannot ride a bike. She never knew the wheels have to be turning for the bike to stay upright. I taught my grand daughter to ride. Once she knew the wheels had to be turning, otherwise you put your foot down ,she immediately rode off up the street like an expert. It is so simple, it is hilarious, - yet it can be a problem.

This from little ol New Zealand
E-scooter-related injuries have cost taxpayers just under $15 million in the two years the devices have been on New Zealand's streets. New data shows ACC received a total of 6284 claims related to e-scooters and paid out $14.98 million between October 2018 and January 2021.7/03/2021

I have noticed some E-scooters whizzing down the footpaths in our street. They go straight across the driveways where cars back out. There might be an argument to require them to be licensed, and pay third party insurance.

Since landing on Mars in August 2012 the Mars rover, Curiosity, is still in operation after 10 years without a 560 million km return trip to Earth for service. That's with 2011 battery and solar charging technology, who would have thought?👽

Maybe they had a very, very long extension cord.

And Opportunity made it 14 years on Mars with 2003 battery and solar charging technology!

So at best a 30 seater plane with a expected 500 mile range with a half hour charge time carrying more than 5 ton of battery is in the same kettle of fish. 🙃
This technology needs some serious R&D

It needs a radical breakthrough. As I have often said, EVs are at the floppy disc level of evolution. We need them up to the super chip level of evolution (comparatively speaking) before they’re a truly viable solution.
