Walking dogs..

Great you dog owners enjoy the company of your dogs, but I see no mention of a pet hate of mine, namely dog owners who allow their dogs to foul the sidewalks/pavements and don't bother to clean their mess up. They give every dog owner from here to the moon a bad name.
And just recently one has I'm pretty sure thrown their dog turd over my garden fence.
A thousand curses on that particular individual.

And a thousand curses to the dog owners who carefully pick up their dog's turd into a specially designed plastic bag
and hang it on a low branch of the nearest tree !

The ones I see hung on trees deep in the countryside are obviously the expensive ones as they
are there a very long time like smelly Christmas decorations, but at all times of the year.

Our cat takes himself out for a walk around 11pm, gets back around 2pm, well that's what the CCTV tells me as I am fast asleep ;)

It's patrolling the neighbourhood. And sniffing out who's been on it's patch.
My sister's cat would bring home a stray hedgehog, it wasn't prickly.

They don't hang it round here, they just send flying dog turds through the air, it lands on a fairy tree.

The first picture is of my boy Tyrion. Second picture is my wife's girl Charlotte. Number three is Oliver my wife's boy. All three are award winners in obedience training and rally. I would kill or die for these dogs. I hate people but love dogs. I've never been screwed over by a dog.

They are happy. They have lived on our property their whole lives and have no care but love. The short-haired had 9 pups, and the longhair was.one of them.

God is Dog spelled backwards.

And dogs love horse hoof trimmings.
Yes they do. For a while I did some farrier work and I never saw a dog that didn't love anaerobic bacteria.
I'll post some pics of the Borders when I get some. Year old puppy is the 'Fiend of the Fell'.

When our daughter just had learnt creeping, not learnt walking, she crept up to our very gentle sleeping German shepherd. And snapped her both teeth in the poor dogs ear. The dog immediately responded with a bite in our daughters nose. Just enough hard to to tell her that it wasn't acceptable. Took some time comforting the poor brutally attacked dog.
Anyhow, lesson learnt, daughter has never bitten a dog after that.
Same dog could kill a wild mink in a fraction of a second. Or once a badger.

I know.... The threat of children biting dogs is so very real and no one even gives a thought to the safety of the poor animals. My older son even stole and ate our innocent Lizzie's food, leaving her without dinner, lest we were watchful.... The little piglet. She was such a sweet little Cocker and would have happily shared too. But no, he'd take every crunchy morsel.

I don't think domesticated breeds perceive children as a threat. Our rescue Shepherd bitch would leave the room if an adult entered, but totally ignored children. (Though I kept a close eye on both!)

I would have to disagree with you there... I had a wonderful cocker spanial as a boy. It would be difficult to conceive of a sentient being with a more gentle disposition. Then one day mum was looking after a neighbors baby and to much surprise and astonishment it jumped and tried to bite the baby's head off. Mum had been taught by an old farmer never to entirely trust animals , She managed a half turn in the micro second available and the spanial snapped on air instead of face.
I actually witnessed this and would not otherwise have believed my dog could or would do such a thing

I must have the only 2 dogs (2 cattle dogs, mother and daughter) that don't do poo's while going for walks, we go for 4 to 5 km each time, they just like doing it in their own yard for some unknown reason and of course some of the most stupid places they do it, I always carry bags but have never had the need to use them.

Wish ALL dogs were like yours - but that is just wishful thinking . . . .

Perhaps I shouldn't have generalised, and I certainly wouldn't advocate mixing the two without monitoring or educating both parties wherever possible.
Used to horrify me when an unseen toddler would launch itself at my dog, usually hanging on to it's neck. Trouble is when their mother's are that dumb to allow it to happen, it's hard to point out that it isn't the best of ideas....

Animals seem to appear here when I'm out-of-town for the weekend. I walk this beast 3 1/2 miles every other day so neither he nor I get too fat and lazy. He's somewhere north of 125 lbs and walks me more than I walk him. His local girlfriends come to visit when they get loose and he lets then have his rawhide chews. Heaven forbid a male dog tries to take one.
Walking dogs..

He likes my buddy Jim.
