I just booked. Blue Ridge Parkway should be fun from Ontario.
I just realized that I have to pay my dues to the INOA. I'll get that done tonight and then register for the event.
It should be a great trip.
Cheers,
Thomas

My dad and I are riding up on Sunday from Niagara Falls Canada (Actually Niagara Region - Pelham area) . Already booked a Lake Side spot.

We should meet up!
Hey Richard-7,
I emailed Manse James our Ontario Norton Owners chapter Prez of the INOA http://www.ontarionortonowners.ca/
Pete Turner ONO, and Richard & Claudia from the New York Chapter have booked, but they are taking their trailers/campers.
I plan on riding there via my trusty 74 850 Interstate Choo Choo Mama. I want to leave Ontario Saturday and take secondary roads using KOA sites along the way (I am doing the Camp thing) aproximately 400 miles per day. I plan on showing up morning or midday at the event on Monday. There are a few members from my CVMG Grand River section that may be interested to go as well but no commitments as of yet. PM me and we can sort out who what where and when.
Cheers,
Thomas

I ordered this route book: http://www.roadtripusa.com/routes/appal ... trail.html
I have ridden some of the routes listed, I am starting in Eastern Massachusetts, my cabin reservation starts on July 10. I hope to leave first thing on Monday July 13 and enjoy the ride down.
It looks like these folks have put together a great Rally.
CNN, you folks had a great rally in Ivy Lea Ontario a few years back. ( except for being hassled crossing at the border! )

Hi Mick,
I like that route that you have posted and I wouldn't mind taking it on the way back after the rally. I would just punch into New York State at around Albany and head back up to Ontario on the east side of Lake Ontario. I think that would be real 8) .

I looks like there will be some good competition for long distance Norton rider this year. After this Winter I will enjoy every mile riding to the Rally.

INOA RALLY: I'm IN

Howdy folks,

Got my INOA membership in the mail a couple days ago, and have registered for the Rally- BUT I called and reserved what must be one of the final available campsites- I am in *overflow* which doesn't appear on the campground map (as the girl I spoke with mentioned storing RVs in that section, I suspect it shows as "storage" on their site map?).

Point being the campground is about sold out as of Tues 3/24.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch:
I've attended various major U.S. vintage bike meets (Mid Ohio, Barber), a BMWMOA "National", along with a couple regional BMW rallies, and been to a couple International BSA OC rallies (Isle Of man 2008, Norway 2013) but this will be my very first INOA rally.
I'll be coming in Sunday 7/12 and camping thru Saturday night, leaving on the Sunday post rally.
Really looking forward to meeting folks, doing the rides, hanging out, etc.

ONE QUESTION:
Does INOA set up a massive tent with a bar for people to hang out in?
The BSA Internationals I've attended feature this, sponsored by the OC branch who hosts the rally.
Just curious- IMO it provides a great centralized "hub" space for meeting and greeting, tho I "get" the liability issues.

Cheers!
Tom

I've only been to the last 3 east coast INOA rallies. There usually is a large hang-out tent or pavilion but no bar there. Each rally is a little different - some more organized than others. Would suggest contacting one of the organizing chapter members for the real info.

The rally is big ! Will be there this year but will be staying at some sort of mountaintop cabin nearby with my wife.

Not like there's at least a couple good micro breweries and maybe a nano brewery or two in Asheville.
Ales will be consumed and no doubt. I had an invite to stay with friends outside Asheville, but figured I'd be closer to the heart of the rally if I camped right there.
"Big!" Eh? Excellent.

Hi all,

Flying in with my wife and staying in a nearby motel. We'll have an air conditioned rental car and plan on being at the rally 7/15 thru 7/18. Looking forward to meeting some of you, seeing old friends and making new ones.

C-ya,

Davis, CA

PS Any spare bikes in the area? I'd be happy to exercise it for you.

Jim Comstock is driving out from CO. Where are you now Jim? Any one else on the road? How is it going? Drive safe everyone.
I'll be at the KOA on Sat afternoon in C1
Cheers, Dan.

My friend got sick and won't make it. I have a spare bed in a cheap motel nearby if anyone needs a place to sleep for about $35/night.

Just rolled into Willville Motorcycle campground in VA. The clouds looked like rain so I took a small cabin. Just got my stuff off my bike and settled in an it started pouring. Hopefully this will pass overnight for the last bit to Asheville.
I came down from the top of the Blue Ridge Parkway this morning. Oh what a blast. :). Lots of grins.

URGENT 2015 INOA Rally Information

First two days were rainy and stormy, but things settled down and a great rally is going on till tonight.

Unfortunately one of the members here had a crash and suffered a broken leg and other injuries. Sadly I have no other details except this:

Hundreds of Nortons everywhere from Magie Valley to Mt. Mitchell and all roads in between.

Hope everyone is having a great time and a safe ride home. The wifi here on the hill is weak, so I'll post up more pictures later.

Cheers, unclenort

Edited July 22 2015:

I put 2536.2 Miles added to my Odometer. Not as long as Jim and Hannah Comstock but I think my route was nicer. Kansas is a little too flat for me. I took the Appalachian range all the way back up to the Finger Lakes in Upstate New York. and crossed at Fort Erie.
not without hiccups but that is part of the adventure. You meet all kinds of nice people along the way. I hope everyone made it back home safe.
Cheers,
Thomas

Nice, you got a pic of 3 of the Alabama contingent. The silver bike is mine, the red is my wife's (aquired just 6 weeks before the rally as a non-runner and a lot of late nights to get it there), and the tourer is Gary's from Huntsville.

We had a great time!

A big Thumbs Up to everyone who actually rode their bikes to the rally!

I wish I could have, but transporting 3 bikes (1 for a friend) and time constraints forced me to drive.

Put over 400 miles on my 850 and over 100 on the Ranger, though :D

Good Job, enjoyed all your photos.

Thanks, Jerry Kaplan
