Thats an old Ducati from the 70’s. It may even be older than the ‘74 Commando. The machine with the radiator around the 44sec mark is a stunt double. I guess the Ducati SS is not so good over jumpsI'm sorry but an old Norton has more soul than a new Ducati. Difference between appliance (albeit a good one) and a mechanical beast with quirks and personality.
I used to ride all the time with just an open faceWho rides without any eye protection - one decent bug is all it takes!
Without wishing to be too pedantic, it's actually a '73 750 Sport (black crankcase covers etc) with a SS fairing (and a less than appealing paint job, but that's another matter).Thats an old Ducati from the 70’s. I’ve always worn specs, so always had at least that protection, but back in the day loads of my mates rode with piss pots and no eye protection.I used to ride all the time with just an open face
It was the rain that would sting like hell
None of my group wore eye protection at that time
I always thought a visor on a German helmet looked a bit naff anyway!I’ve always worn specs, so always had at least that protection, but back in the day loads of my mates rode with piss pots and no eye protection.
One mate took a direct hit with some big bug. His eye was horrid and swollen for weeks. Still carried on though !
It just seemed normal then. It seems hideous looking back though !
These days I wear goggles over my specs when using an open face lid.
If seats could talk …The rider though is throughly appealing![]()
