Any one got any SABBATH :?:

Mike

Why ? ... Ozzy only thinks that he's the Prince of Fookin Darkness ! - We know better.

Very nice music indeed!

David Gilmour is the complete antithesis of Roky Erickson, one of my favorites from the 60s.

Floyd?? Sabbath??? That's it, I am breaking out ZZ Top, backed up with Charlie Daniels and some Skynard for a chaser.
Actually I appreciate and like a wide range of music.

The modern day Rap $--t is NOT MUSIC!!!

Don't know of this Gilmore guy, it is rather nice.

bummed about syd.. saw that today too.

I doubt anyone on here would know these bands

Dead Boys
76% Uncertain
Mastadon
Infest
What Happens Next?
Belle and Sebastian
Cause for Alarm
Ill Repute
Aggression

In my opinion, those are some great bands

Get real, guys - Joseph Lucas is The Prince of Darkness. A friend with a TR4 has that on the front of a T-shirt. On the back it says "The reason the British drink their beer warm is that they have Lucas refrigerators"

On the trunk lid of his TR4 is a decal that says "The parts falling off this car are of the finest British workmanship".

It's said that positive earth was used because spark plugs run 15% better with it. Now the rest of the electrical system runs 40% not better. If they could do it all over a hotter plug may have been a better choice.

My favorite Lucas joke was always:

Joe Lucas says "don't go out after dark"

Getting back off topic, all this talk of old rock bands reminds me of going to the Judas Priest concert way back when. (Old boyfriend was a metalhead). Yikes. Did I really do that??

Now of course, my musical tastes have "matured" and I just listen to jazz on the public radio stations :D

Hmm, I still have some of those old heavy metal albums packed away in the basement somewhere. Wonder if I could sell them on ebay?

Debby

Don't do it Debbie, you can't buy music like these days although i did hear The Whos' new single yesterday, it goes for 11 minutes, yeeeah that's the way it should be :D

Mike.

positive & negatives

With reference to Norbsa 'It's said that positive earth was used because spark plugs run 15% better with it. '

We look at circuit diagrams and reckon that current flows positive to negative from high potential to low voltage potential.
This makes positive earth systems seem back to front, upside down etc
But i seem to recall reading that electron flow is negative to positive which would mean lucas could have it correct. Not that it matters two hoots.
Its just a different way of looking at things.
Australia is on top of the world isn't it ?

it better not be I'll fall off

Alpha,

You are correct, electrons flow from negative to positive, which I believe was the impetus for the positive earth systems. And it wasn’t just Lucas that grounded the positive lead; some early American autos had the same arrangement. So, why the switch back to negative ground?
