Pulling the choke slide cables raise them out if the airway. When they are "on" they hang down into the airway. Does that help?

Or how about this?

I stand corrected. It's been a long while , still have 3 sets sitting unused in a box of will these ever be used stuff.

OKay. Starting to get it now. I've been applying the idea used on the SU carbs in the car (butterfly valve) where you pull the cable and the choke is on. Obviously different with the Norton. Interesting resolution to the problem though; take them out and discard.

So, at any rate, tomorrow I'll try the above described method for correct mixture. Once this rain stops, I'm finally going out for a long, legitimate ride. Port Hope maybe?

Thanks again.

Funny that I took the R 1100 RT with my buddy on his new 167 H.P. B.M.W. S. up to Port Hope just afew hours ago for the evening fish at Gores Landing ,Rice Lake. We caught 3 Pickerels but released them due to the new slot size limits. They could sieze the vehicle you know. Thurs. better day for you.
