One of my interstate side panels had a pouch to stash a tool roll in and the other one did not, so I welded up a pouch insert to the one that had none. I will list my contents and hope some people will add their comments or ideas of what they think is a good choice for their tool roll and why....

4" mini vise grip
4" mini vise grip pointy nose
extra fuses
scrench for plugs, with 11/16, 13/16, and blade screwdriver combo tool (chainsaw tool)
small wire cutter
36" of lock wire
6- 18" zip ties
2 extra spark plugs
1/2 roll of electrical tape
hook tool for rear shocks

That's about it. Anything else anyone packs that seems easy and essential?

I have tubeless tires so I could do a tire repair plug, but then I don't have way to fill it up with air.... even though my 70' actually had the pins on the frame to hold the air pump,... which I never had from day 1

Most of that but also a siphon tube, multi-tool, circuit tester and AAA card. On tubeless bikes, I carry tire plugs and a mini air compressor. I also have the CO2 cartridges but they sit on the shelf, the mini pumps are fantastic now.

My son just picked up an '03 KTM EXC450 and it's running the Neutech tubeless system. You can plug a puncture, but if that won't fix it, the 100 PSI smaller tube will hold the beads on so you can run flat in a pinch.

Cell phone, AAA card and a belt for my trousers.

Yes, I know, Smart A--.....
Out for a little shake down cruise to the infamous Cook's Corner. Arrived, no issues.
Everything is new and it runs GREAT!!! (What cold go wrong)
Return trip, Jerry flies up around and pulls me over. Center stand is dragging. Spring fell off.
That's nice, it was a new spring. Can't take it off, no tools..Hmmm... Lash it up with belt.
Off we go. Running great, till it's not. Running rough, occasional misfire, smells hot. Hmmm....
New alternator light won't go out, (forget what it is at the moment)...
Get home ok.... Battery, depleted.....smoked the new 3 Phase stator...

Sooo, taking notes for what should be in the little pouch.. Carry on....

Maybe eyeglasses, headlamp, 1 or 2 drainplugs for the Amals, test light... it depends on how far I am traveling

Interesting answers......

So, my center stand kept dropping on left hand sweepers, so I have it removed for now until I can wind a second spring to go inside the stock spring, but I forgot to say that I also carry an extra spring for the side stand. I also turned one of my magnetic rotors down 1/16" so there would be a tiny bit more gap in the Rotor/stator. I have yet to test it to see if that effects the charging quality.

I also carry in my jacket, a set of magnifier glasses and a master link for the chain.

I don't need a washer to open the primary inspection ports, I have a belt drive and rear sets. The outer cover goes on and comes off in a minute.

I don't have normal carb drain plugs, but I could carry an extra "Thingamajig" that replaces my drain plug. That's a good idea....

My tools are in a backpack. Lot of stuff, but I actually don't think there is one Whitworth wrench in there. Many not so Norton fasteners.

Funny thing about a backpack full of tools is the only time I really needed all those tools was when I was just going for a short test ride and decided I didn't need the backpack. Otherwise, whatever is in that backpack has saved me from some long walk/pushes back home or waits for a tow.

I've been meaning to get a locking adjustable wrench for ages. One day I'll break down and get one.

Lemme know next time you head to Cook's. I go there all the time.

Zip ties, electrical tape, plug wrench, combo wrenches in common sizes, screwdrivers. Blue Locktite. If I am going out overnight, chain lube, engine oil, small bottle of gear oil and the Fanttik X-9. What is a Fanttik X-9? Great little gadget that checks tire pressure and inflates tires. 4 inches x 9 inches. Has rechargeable battery. No more messing around looking for the tire inflator at gas stations.

Yeah that X-9 is the one I have, it is a must-have IMO.

I have something similar, a bit bigger though. I really like the ability to get a consistent pressure in the tyres, and it’s much easier to connect to a valve stem than using a garage forecourt pump (which do vary quite a bit regarding pressure readings).

I carry a BMW R series pump in my pack, but it could also be taped or ty wrapped to a frame tube if necessary.

Along with the patch kit of course. If you are going any distance carry a spare tube. If you have it you won't need it.

I carry both and levers (the tube can be seen under the pump), but I don't travel a great distance.

I'm Tubeless! so, all I need is the plug and some way to air it up. The BMW pump looks a lot like I imagine the Norton pump would have looked. I'm going to look into that.
