Having a look into the future of my 74 Mk2 restore, I will have the tank and two side covers stripped and repainted. I am trying to avoid the decal for graphics and keep it possibly simple. maybe like Keanu Reeves Norton, (below.) Or a more traditional look? I have contacted a custom paint shop here in town, (Las Vegas, NV.) and without seeing the 3 tins, he quoted me a price of around $1000-$1200 for stripping, one color base, clear, custom "Norton" paint graphic(s) and clear, etc. Now, of course I will get other estimates and my options are limited here in Vegas. I am not sure if shipping them out of state would be an option due to the delicate nature of this job, (can you say, UPS shot put in truck?)
Anyway, my question(s) are:
1) Does this price seem reasonable.
2) Would you consider sending out of state to get the right job done? *Limited options here in Vegas.
3) Other considerations, (Other than paint myself, I know my limitations.)
K. R. Norton paint scheme:
Or possibly something like this?

Current tank, (*Very crazed and cracked finish.)
