"Three-Ring Circus" at the Flying Z Ranch

Engine for the "Rolling Donor" T-Bird arrived with a resultant oil spill cleanup for the shipper's van; I made a good job of it with Simple Green & rainwater.

Set to, and struggled a fair bit more than I did with either of the two previous triples; monoshock linkage fought me 'till I TOTALLY unloaded the spring.

It's now ready for sale...

My dual disc front wheel is on the bike only till I swap the front end on the Thunderlegend AGAIN. This bike only gets a single disc up front.

Got a few more items ticked off the list with the ThunderLegend-

Bought and installed correct discs (5mm smaller) I really need to buy that size allen head tip for my impact driver; I only have the "almost right" size, and I partially stripped 2 of the 12 screws.

Made a special tool to install the fork seals (a piece of 2" PVC plumbing fitting with the outside edge shaved down on the band saw so that it can JUST fit inside the lower fork leg top opening).

Assembled the forks and partially filled with not enough 5W oil. I'm buying a quart and start over. One of the internal parts may be in the wrong order (I received them already assembled and the illustrations are cra@ppy. Anyway, they work well enough for low speed testing if need be, and to roll around the barndo/shop.

Pulled off the modified airbox and installed new pod filters. Runs GREAT!

Installed LED headlight bulb - very nice! I should have bought a few of these...

Swapped the meter cluster for a much nicer one, but it has perished cup trim rings. By "perished" I mean they died a HORRIBLE gooey, flaky, sticky MESS. Good thing is, almost everything WORKS, including the idiot lights (tach lighting not working).

Bleeding the brakes took a while, but that's done. So, much closer to being finished, at last...

Need to install the new Red front fender. Correct paint (spray can) ordered to paint the sidecovers & rear fender.

FINALLY, the correct front end is done, on the Rolling Project T-Bird.
