Well I’m already for 2013 and the 100/100/100.
My replacement head is great with new guides by JC, tight seats and good geometry. I milled the face and opened the intake port slightly to match up to the manifolds. I only went in about ½ to ¾”. The main point about this head is that I know exactly what I have. Tight, balanced and equal from side to side.
I swapped out the Surefire for a PowerArc. Very clean setup. I think the most important part it to make sure you have the matching coil. This also may help if warrantee issues arise, god forbid.
I have also done some maintenance things like swing arm bushing check, clean up a little wiring and added a Shorai 14ah battery. These batteries are so nice and all the adhesive padding is very classy.
A few years ago I added the Pazon sure fire and some new exhaust pipes. It turn out that I was set up way off and the brand new pipes turned cherry red before I could stop it. I lived with them since but decided to get some replacements from Commando Specialties. Their 1 ½” pipes are pretty good and that is where I got them originally. They matched up perfectly with good clearance and no stress on the rubber mounts. The lesson was that I started and tuned everything up with the old pipe before fitting the new.
Finally, I sprung for a pair of 32mm Premiers. Knowing that I had a solid setup on the shelf and that if they didn’t work out, I could sell them off with little trouble. I was really looking for that first kick season start up that I have experienced before but no go this time. I dinked around and fiddle for an hour and said “screw this”. I put the Mik Pumper on and had that first kick experience. I admit that my impatience may have gotten the best of me, but I want to ride. I do not know what I will do with them yet. Stay tuned.
