You can get stock or halogen replacements for your bulbs here - http://www.norbsa02.freeuk.com/

Hi David [ gortnipper that is ] , Have you managed to get yours yet. I will report shortly about the LED lights I have installed on my bike. Now that the weather is getting better. I just couldn't be bothered over the last couple of months.

all the best. Dereck

And Dave [ 1977 ], the lighting we have suggested is quite ok, but I have gone even further by fitting expensive LED's just to see what they are like.

You can never sell that bike. It is a vital link to your past and your dad. Those things re ir-replaceable. You owe nothing on it. I have a few bikes and an old MG TD that were either close family members vehicles or have a link to my past and will be in my collection till I die. There is no replacing those feelings and memories you get when you take one of those vehicles for a spin.

Congrats and just pick away at it to get it sorted. Resist all the high dollar mods to 'improve' it and just focus on making it a good reliable roadworthy bike.

Key to that is just going through the electrical system and cleaning all connections, then using a GOOD battery (AGM) and a tender. Then putting non-ethanol fuel in it with some stabilizer. I also use octane booster and 2 stroke oil at 100 to 1 to keep everything working smoothly. I also drain the carbs if the bike will sit for more than a few days. I've not had to touch anything at all on my bike in the 5 years since I restored it, other than oil changes and lubing. And it's 100% stock/original.

Ditto. I have one of norbsa's 65W bulbs in a pre-focus Lucas lens, and havent been bothered to get a new lens.

Thanks gort, Derek, Acotrel, lrutt. Good point lrutt...
All the advice is much appreciated. Went to parts store,
counter guy found a bulb dimensionally equivelant,
38 watt halogen...they had to order from another
store. Can pick it up after work tomorrow and will report in.

Irutt, It has been said to me that something is only worth what you can get for it when you sell it. Some people know the price of everything however the value of nothing. I don't own a near standard commando, however if I did I would never let it go.

Welcome to the forum. Fix that Norton up ! It'll be well worth the trouble. BTW, I graduated from Midwestern College in Denison Iowa back in 1970. I spent 4 years out your way from 1966 to 1970 .....a little bit different than Philadelphia. Best of luck with your bike....PhillySkip
