80 octane is lower than power kerosene.

What it REALLY needed was the 2 stage compound supercharging that the Merlin had.
Thats quite a lot of boost. Quite a lot....
 
1950 pump gas in old blighty WAS 80 Octane . 50 T - Bird Cop.R. WAS 6.5 , good enough for a Ton with 40 cubes .

300 cubes I dont think embelishments are neccesary . 200 mph is fast enough on the roads out here . :p :D 8)

I know.
But 80 octane is less than power kerosene.
Motorcycle didn't get 100 mph out of the Tbird they tested...
