That brand new look for engine cases

My mate had the cases from his Manxvapour blasted to remove baked-on Castrol R. It also removed yhe beautiful grey-green coating which was desinged to protect the magnesium. I found him somebody who did the DTD934 coating for the aircraft industry. The price was - the guy wanted to see the bike when it was all together. Sounds cheap to me.

The automatic dishwasher soap is CAUSTIC. Look at any alloy bits of kitchen parts.
Part odf the pretreatment of magnesium parts id a dip in casustic soda solution, so do mot get confused when you treat parts drom racing motorcycles - you might enf up with fizz.

We vapor blast most cases, barrels, and heads unless a customer wants the tumbled smooth look, which we put in a large vibratory tumbler with ceramic media. Vapor blasting closes the pores, and the finish, with a little bit of maintenance, lasts. Also, vapor blasting is a good start for hubs or other parts that you want to polish.

If you are worried about maintenance, then Cerakote 5100 can be sprayed, and it will protect the surface.

Here is a video we posted on a case that was in rough shape.

Alternatively, some of the Cerakote silver(satin nickel, aluminum, etc.) make for good case and head colors as well and work much better than some of the paints available. Also, they are super easy to spray at home if need be.

Well, based on the recommendations for White Diamond I bought a box of six (shipping is a killer here)
First observations:
* It needs a lot of bottle shaking to get the solids in suspension.
* It doesn't go dry as you apply it - the way others do, with them just keep polishing until the polish starts disappearing, then wipe the minor residue off.
* It works. 'Til now I could not get my new NOS timing cover to the same lustre as the cNw cover (tumbled in nut shells?) but this delivers the goods.

How good is the "sealant"? Time will tell, but so far I am impressed! It's a 10 whereas Mothers is a 7 and Autosol a 5.
Cheers

I brought and tried this stuff as a local truck outfit here sells it...conclusion works really well on chrome than anything I've used before...finer grit compound and not to bad on semi polished alloy...
As far a the de oxidizer goes need to try out on some old parts...yet to test....feeling tucked...🤣

Is that Wellington Australia (NSW) or Wellington NZ?
The one in OZ in inland, very cold at the moment and about 1800km from me. The NZ one is even further south and a very long way from me.
Whichever - I hope they have fun!
Cheers

I've never seen or used this product ...but it sounds good as mentioned earlier
Shane,
I have just about every type of metal polish there is but got a package of individual packets of this stuff and was extremely impressed after trying it out on my timing side cover.Went ahead and did the rest of the aluminum on m/c.Of course after,Iwent to Tennessee and got caught in the rain.
I have no reservations about recommending this product!
Mike

Nearly 2 months since first use now.
Have to say White Diamond is easily the best metal polish I have ever used.
Thanks for the heads-up Roy !@The yaki 👍 👍
Cheers
Makes life easier. I've abandoned autosol and mothers etc. Dearer yes, but less effort and great results means a less than youthfull shed dweller can spend more time on trying to rectify the important issues with never seemingly ending design faults ! Will I ever get there? Unlikely, Roy.

What’s it like in terms of protection of the polished surface ?
Well, it's been over 7 months since I tried White Diamond and I have to say it has truly exceeded my expectations.
I did reapply after 5 months (although it really wasn't needed)
The sealant aspect of this product is truly excellent - and I live within a kilometre of the sea. A quick wipe-over with a rag each week is all that is needed.
I'm sold @The yaki !
Cheers

I agree with Rob that this is the best product I have used.A clear visual difference in how it looks and lasts.

I bought White Diamond! Maybe I am doing something wrong as I have not achieved the results others have. Though I confess I hate polishing things. My solutions to factory look cases:

Of course, she/he/they will support your purchase.....it's Christmas! Or any other pagan or religious winter festival you or your significant other/offsring may celebrate!

Time for wine! o_O

I bought White Diamond based on recommendations/testimonials in this thread.😎

It doesn't work.😞

Apparently, you must take it out of the package AND container to achieve those results. 💡🤣

It's been a BUSY YEAR! 📆🌪️💨

I had a similar disappointment recently…

I bought a gym membership… after 6 months I can’t see any results whatsoever.

I’m going to the gym in person tomorrow to find out what’s wrong…

Alloy sure is tricky
I’ve spent too many years polishing alloy wheels with Solvol only for the satisfied smile to fade quicker than downing a pint. Chrome rims for me now.

I used to buff up tyre sidewalls with boot polish for a great look without the garish glare of tyre paint.
Or, "fades quicker than a landlord's smile"

Got White Diamond after reading some posts here praising it and have buffed up the Commando and the old Matchless. Best stuff I’ve ever used for a brighter, longer lasting shine.
