Tappet location plate thickness (06.3092)

I have a brand new cylinder block from AN for my 750. The tappet location plates from old cylinder do not fit. The slots in the new cylinder are narrower.

If I simply file them down then they will be too thin for the tappets... Why would the new cylinder be different and what is the solution?

Increase the size of the slots, with a file it will take some time and you need to get the right amount off each side. Other option is to thin the locating plate only where it needs it for the barrel slot and leave the portion that fits the followers alone.

Wonder why the slot is not standard. Might be a challenge making sure all is symmetric so that the tappets are still dead centre. What a PITA.

I assume he has considered that or he would not ask, either that or the fuss of barrels froing and tooing between Austria and UK is not an option.
